Sequel to: When Did It Change

"So what happens now?" He thought as he and Ezra walked into the Saloon.

Josiah let out a deep sigh as he realized that what he needed to do was to go searching for his answers. In order to do that, however, he needed to seek them away from the temptations of those piercing green eyes, and a southern drawl that could melt ice.

Seeing Chris finish his talk with Ezra and Buck, he walked over to the table to ask Chris for his favor.

"Chris," he said as he watched Chris stretch his long legs out across the scarred hardwood floor.

Chris nodded his head in response and took sip of whiskey as he watch Josiah sit down across form him.

"Where are Ezra and Buck going?" He asked

"Prisoner exchange. They should be back tomorrow afternoon."

Josiah nodded and then cleared his throat.

"Chris, we've known each other for close to two years now and during that time I have never asked a favor from you or any of the guys," Josiah took a deep breath and watched as the hazel eyes of their leader narrowed in wait for the favor he was going to ask him.

"Chris, I need some time away from here for a bit. I need to leave town." He paused for a long moment, searching for the right words, "In order to seek the answers to a problem that has been plaguing me recently."

Chris raised his eyebrow up at this and then said, "Is there anything that we could do to help you?"

"No Chris, this is something that I need to take care of myself."

"How long do you think you'll be gone?" He asked as he took a sip of his drink.

"Four days at the most."

Chris took another sip as he thought it over. "The town has been kind of quiet lately." He said as he struck a match to light his cigar. "Where will you be just in case the place decides to liven up?" He asked as he blew out a puff of smoke.

"Prayer Rock."

Chris thought for a moment as he remembered that Prayer Rock was considered among the local tribes to be a sacred and spiritual place. So he was not surprised to hear of Josiah heading there.

"Okay Josiah, you can go. If trouble does come up, I'll send Vin to fetch you back."

Josiah smiled, grabbed his hat, but as he started to get up, Chris' next words stopped him.

"No matter what happens Josiah, remember that we are here to support you. No matter what."

Josiah smiled, "Thank you, Brother, I will," he said as he walked out of the saloon in search of his answers.
