Sequel to: Walk with Me

Ezra leaned back and looked up at his love with confusion in his eyes.

"What...What did you say?"

Josiah nervously smiled down at his love, fearing that Ezra would say no or would tell him that their barely begun romance was already over.

Struggling up his courage, he repeated himself. "I want to court you."

"Court me?" asked his astonished lover.

"Why on earth would you want to court me?" Ezra asked as he moved apart from Josiah.

"To show you how much I love you." Josiah said as he pushed away from the tree he was leaning against.

"But you already told me how much you love me. You show me how much you love me in the way you kiss me. Why court me?" He asked again as he moved closer.

"Because I care about your feelings. Because I want to show everyone that I love you and only you," Josiah said as he looked back down at his love and gently brushed a hand over Ezra's face.

Awe filled Ezra's voice at hearing Josiah's words. "Only me?" He cautiously asked as he looked back up at Josiah.

Josiah lovingly smiled down at his love as he softly repeated his words. "Only you, Ezra. Only you. No one else ever again for I will only love you....forever." He finished as he leaned down to place a gentle kiss on Ezra's forehead.

Ezra let out a sigh of relief as he leaned his head against Josiah's shoulder. Josiah had just promised to love him and only him. No one else ever again, Josiah had said. Not Nathan. Not Maude. And not that saloon girl who had broken Josiah's heart. None of them mattered now, for Josiah had promised to love only him.

"Do you know how much I love you?" Ezra asked as he smiled back up at his love.

Josiah softly chuckled as he wrapped his arms around Ezra and pulled him closer.

At the teasing shake of Josiah's head, Ezra leaned up towards his love and kissed him.

"I love you so much... " he teasingly paused for effect, "That I do believe that I will let you court me."

Josiah laughed out loud as he hugged Ezra closer to his body and started to leaned in for another kiss when Ezra stopped him.

"Now, now, Mr. Sanchez," Ezra said as he teasingly pointed his finger at him. "You said you wanted to court me proper-like. Well, this kissing thing is just not done." He said with a teasing glint in his eye as he quickly stole a kiss from Josiah and started to run off.

Josiah stood there in shock for a moment before it dawned on him that Ezra was teasing him. He shook his head at his laughing love and started to give chase.
