Sihn's Empire
Reflections
by Angel

This little snippet hit me while I was shaving my legs. I was standing there in my bathroom, and I hear this sweet, Southern drawl ask, "Why don't I see what you see?" After I checked to make sure I was alone (Buck has a habit of coming in to watch me shave, don't know why, don't ask-though he does do it to Ezra, too), I quickly finished so I wouldn't forget the line or the idea. Enough rambling, Fudge, just give them the story. Sorry. :-) Enjoy the show.

Buck Wilmington stepped out of the bathroom and was greeted by the most wonderful sight in the known world: Ezra Standish, naked. But, the moment was killed when Buck saw the look of sadness on his lover's face. Ezra was standing if front of the closet mirror, starring at his reflection, as if it held the answers to the universe. Buck crossed the room and stopped behing his love.

"What's wrong, angel-love?" he asked, wrapping his arms around the slender waist. Ezra sighed lustily.

"Why can't I see what you see?" the younger man asked, leaning back against the broad chest behind him. Buck closed his eyes for a moment. They had had this talk before, many times before. He just couldn't understand why Ezra couldn't see he was a very handsome, sweet, loving young man. But, then, Buck had met Maude. "Is my mirror different from yours? Is that why?" Ezra continued.

"No, Ezra. There's nothing wrong with your mirror or mine. Your mirror is just a little foggy. I really wish you could see what I see. What I love about you. Angel-love, if it takes the rest of our lives, you will see what I see," Buck promised. Then, the older man paused. "What brought this about, babe?" he asked.

"I called Mother this morning, to see when her flight would arrive this weekend. She said something had come up, and would not be able to make it up to see me. 'Perhaps next month, darling'. She asked if I had been eating, since the last time she saw me I looked to thin. She asked if I had gotten a hair cut, since the last time she saw me my hair looked dreadful. She asked about you. She's still not happy with my relationship with you. I couldn't get a word in edgewise. She never lets me talk," Ezra answered, tears forming in his jade, green eyes. Buck hugged the younger man tightly.

"Angel-love, you look perfect. There's nothing wrong with your hair. I love the length; it's long enough for me to play with while you sleep. There's nothing wrong with your weight. If there was, Nathan would be pestering you about it. As for us. We are as perfect as can be. I complete you, and you complete me. I won't let anyone, including Maude, take you away from me," he told the man in his arms. Ezra looked up into the sky blue eyes of the man he loved. He saw nothing but love shining out of them. "Now, as much as I love you all nekkid and in my arms, we need to go to work or Chris will have our hides. Go get dressed. I'll get the coffee," Buck continued, kissing Ezra and then playfully swatting his young lover on the butt. Ezra laughed and went to get dressed. As Buck was about to walk out the door, Ezra called to him.

"Buck?" he asked. The taller man paused in the doorway.

"Yes?" he returned.

"I love you."

"I love you, too, angel-love"
