"Where would you like to have dinner tonight Vin?" Ezra asks as he answers the door. It's Vin's turn to spend the weekend with him.

"I'm sick of going out very time I stay with you. I'll cook if you can't."

"I can cook. I'm not sure what I would prepare will be to your taste Vin. If we go to a restaurant at least we both have something we like."

"Ez, I'll eat anything as long as it ain't from a restaurant."

Ezra sighs he knew this would be a problem. Resigned he heads to his kitchen and opens his cupboards to see what he has on hand. "Like onions?"

"Yeah."

"Then if you would be so good as to start peeling potatoes." Ezra hands Vin six large potatoes.

"Ez, you're cooking not me." Vin passes them back.

"Do you want mashed potatoes with dinner or noodles with squid ink?"

Vin tried the noodles made with squid ink once he hated them. So he takes back the potatoes and hunts in the drawer next to him for a peeler. Not finding it he opens the drawer next to it. Inside are boxes of ammunition for Ezra's guns as well as a reload kit for that peashooter he sometimes carries. "Ez, you got a potato peeler around?"

"Drawer behind you Vin. I'll need the black handled Chef's knife"

Vin when opens the drawer he whistles there has to be over a dozen knives in the drawer. But no potato peeler. "Can't find the potato peeler."

"Drawer on you're left." Ezra accepts the Chef's knife from Vin.

Vin opens the drawer and blinks there are more kitchen tools in the drawer then he's ever seen before. "So what are we havin' other than mashed potatoes?"

"Don't know yet." Going over to his desk he powers up his computer and drops in a CD. He enters the search parameters and only one recipe shows up. "Dinner tonight is going to be Peppered Pork Cutlets with Onion Gravy. Though I'm going to have to substitute pork steaks for the pork cutlets." Printing off a copy of the recipe.

"Sounds good. What about a vegetable?"

"I've a corn and black bean salad in the refrigerator that should work."

"What's in that?"

"Corn, black beans, green onions, parsley, with a tomato basil vinaigrette."

"Works for me." putting the potatoes on the stove to boil.

Ezra collects the printed recipe. "Vin do I have any milk in the refrigerator?"

Vin looks. "Nope. You're out of beer as well."

"Knew there was something I forgot after work. Vin could you run to the store and get it for me." pulling out his wallet and handing Vin a ten.

"Gallon of milk and a six pack of Microbrew is going to cost more than that."

"Vin, I never buy milk by the gallon. Mr. Dunne is the only one I know who drinks the stuff."

"I drink it."

"The day you move in I'll start buying it by the gallon, until then I'll only need a pint."

"Have to see if your cooking is any good first before I move in." Vin teases. "Need anything else at the store?"

"I'll go shopping in the morning after breakfast. While you're at the community center."
